My Story

Hey!

I'm running the Bath Half in March to raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre!

Velindre Cancer Centre provides cancer treatment for the majority of South Wales. Through your donations they can provide earlier access to life saving treatment, research into new treatment and fund the purchase of new equipment!

On the 10th of November 2022 my mum was diagnosed with stage three oesophagus cancer. She had 9 months of treatment at Velindre consisting of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and 12 hour surgery to remove a large portion of her oesophagus.

Amazingly, Mum has been in remission for the last 6 months!

The staff at Velindre have been incredibly kind and caring. Making Mum feel calm and at ease during her treatment.  If not for the many doctors, nurses and healthcare staff at Velindre, Mum would not be with us today.

Through your donations, more people can get earlier access to life saving treatments. So If you have a spare £5 or fancy having one less overpriced flat-white in order to donate to Velindre Cancer Centre then it really is money well spent!
